Amazon Announces The Fire Phone, Its First Smartphone
Amazon announced its first smartphone Wednesday, the Fire Phone.
The Fire Phone goes on sale July 25, but you can only get it if you’re an AT&T customer. It costs $199.99 with a two-year contract. You can also buy it without a contract starting at $649.

It has a 4.7-inch screen, which is slightly larger than the 4-inch screen on the iPhone 5S.
One of the biggest features in the phone is Firefly. Firefly lets you snap photos of real-world objects and then search for them for purchase on Amazon. In short, the Fire Phone is a device that’ll make it easier to buy stuff from Amazon.
The phone also has 3-D effects called Dynamic Perspective on the screen that can be used for gaming, mapping, and even shopping apps. (Amazon showed a demo where the Fire Phone let you “peek” around a dress on a shopping site.)
Here’s a quick snapshot of the other important features:

It runs Amazon’s own customized version of Android. That means you can’t use Google services like Gmail and Google Maps. You have to use Amazon’s own app store, maps app, and other services.
A Mayday button will let you video chat with an Amazon customer support representative if you have trouble using the device. This feature was originally introduced in the Kindle Fire HDX tablet last year.
Fire Phone owners get unlimited photo storage online.
It has infrared cameras on the front for taking photos in dark settings.
New Fire Phone customers will get a free one-year subscription to Amazon Prime. Amazon Prime gives you free two-day shipping on many items, free streaming music, and free streaming video. It’s a limited time offer.

LIVE FROM GOOGLE’S PIXEL 4 EVENT
Google executives will go onstage today to announce the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL smartphones. There have been so many leaks of that phone that the company will have a hard time surprising anybody, but it may try. The new Pixels are rumored to have radar, for Pete’s sake, so Google surely has something it can show off on stage that we haven’t seen before.
We are also expecting a new Pixelbook made by Google, called the Pixelbook Go. There were leaks abound it as well, and they indicate it’ll be a midrange device instead of the expensive flagships Google usually tries to make with Chrome OS.
The nest should be making an appearance as well, with a new Nest Mini speaker and Nest Wi-Fi system also rumored. Pixel Buds 2 seem likely because everybody is making earbuds now, and no way Google wants to be left out of that particular fight.

Why do Microsoft’s mobile games keep failing
It’s a real-world example of how organizations with multiple generations of workers respond to persistent chat and social networks in the enterprise. Independent research has shown that Millennials in the workplace show a preference for collaborating in team workspaces with instant messaging and humorous animated GIFs while the Gen Xers (and Baby Boomers) working in the same office want Outlook Email.
Parturient convallis
Nobody saw this coming. Minecraft Earth is dead, and will be shut down at the end of June. A game that should’ve been a massive easy-win for Microsoft is now being shuttered, joining Mixer, Windows Phone, and the other wasted-potential products Microsoft has put out over the years..
Scelerisque vulputate
Minecraft Earth isn’t alone either. Gears POP! and Age of Empires: Castle Siege recently shut down as well, and the future of Forza Street is up in the air. It really does beg the question; why can’t Microsoft capitalize on this insanely lucrative market, and will it hinder their chances with Xbox Game Pass for Android and iOS?
Iaculis vestibulum
Minecraft Earth’s closest competitor, naturally, is Pokémon Go. Both games espouse outdoor play as their core mechanic, all centered in augmented reality. In Minecraft Earth, the premise was to travel around, mine “tappable” blocks, and make creations on a 3D augmented reality layer. It was awesome, cool, and fun, inspired by the HoloLens demo of yore.
Cursus aliquam
What scuppered Minecraft Earth boiled down to the game’s design. The first impressions of Minecraft Earth in its beta period was marred with needless hurdles and time-gating that defy the very essence of Minecraft. The game is about unrestricted creativity, and in Minecraft Earth, Microsoft asked players to either wait several hours to craft stacks of items or pay up some cash.
How to enable & use Android Picture in Picture (PIP) Mode
We have often faced queries about the Picture in Picture mode feature of Android. Since most of the Nokia Android smartphones already run Android Oreo/Pie now it is natural for owners of these devices to try to use one of the most exciting features of the Oreo update.
But using this feature is not so straightforward because of mainly two reasons.
You might be wondering if I’m really that much into this whole project and that every year I get a proper birthday cake for the little Nokiamob? Well, my wife would give a perfect answer to this, which is probably not for everyone’s eyes, but the answer is no. It is following the birthday of a very special 8-year old that you might know from the picture below.
While using the navigation mode you can use Maps in Picture in Picture or PIP mode. Check the screenshots below. As we said Maps work in PIP mode only when you are using the navigation while driving or riding. All you need to do is to use the home button to send the app in the background while using navigation and PIP window pops up. You can also notice that we have enabled Picture in Picture mode by going to Apps settings.
